Yahir A. Barragan started working at Obagi Law Group prior to attending law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and rejoined after he attained his J.D.
As our lead Spanish-speaking communicator, Yahir plays a key role in helping Obagi Law Group build trust from the beginning of the relationship with Spanish-speaking clients. He also provides critical assistance in the area of legal research to ensure we have the backing of the law in every step of a client’s case.
Yahir supports counsel at Obagi Law Group in all aspects of civil litigation, including preparation, law and motion practice, discovery, arguing at hearings, and upholding the firm’s stellar reputation for customer service — particularly our dedication to maintaining constant contact with each client.
Yahir first realized his passion for law and justice during his undergraduate studies, when his law-based political science courses made clear where his future lies. While pursuing his J.D., he gained invaluable experience in different fields of law — from clerking for the Foundation for California Community Colleges, to clerking at both the Public Defender and District Attorney offices.
During his final year of law school, Yahir was selected for McGeorge’s Moot Court Team and McGeorge’s Negotiation Team. He was named one of the top student negotiators in the country, helping McGeorge finish third in the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition.
Yahir graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a B.S. in Political Science. At the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law he earned his J.D. with certificates in Intellectual Property and Business and was inducted into the Traynor Honor Society. Yahir became a provisionally licensed attorney by the California State Bar in November 2020.
